Came here for my third time last night, and as always it did NOT disappoint. It’s enjoyable to keep coming back to Tail Up Goat since the menu changes seasonally. Every time I have gone, the food has always been incredible and delicious. The ambience and service simply push it to a new level (since the food and drinks are already absolutely fantastic). Beyond that the cost is very reasonable for a Michelin starred restaurant.

Tail Up Goat has some of the best service (most recently I had Mathew R) and food in the city. The team is helpful in guiding guests through fun, unique wines and spirits while creating beautiful food. The scallops in chili oil are a must order as are many of the house made pastas. Don’t skimp on dessert as their cakes and custards are a carefully created mix of flavors and textures.

I could only get a seat at the bar, and so I was able order a small entree and a delicious artisan cocktail. The staff was very nice and professional, very proud of their work! I hope to go back next time I'm in town and get a reservation and enjoy the full experience!

Wow they have definitely earned their Michelin star. Food was the best I’ve eaten in DC, anywhere, of any type. The Madeira custard looks unassuming but was my favorite of the meal- so, so delicious. Service was incredible. For my first visit, I took my grandparents for dinner, and my grandmother told the waitress she couldn’t eat anything with vinegar, garlic, or spiciness. This had the potential to make the rest of our meal not as delicious as it may otherwise have been, but our waitress took her menu and marked it up with all the things she could and couldn’t eat, and alterations for the things that could be made differently for her. Pictures attached! We were so impressed. And to top it off, when I came back a month later with other friends of mine that were in town, they had logged those dietary restrictions and asked me if I wanted them applied to this meal (I happily declined). This is a favorite of mine and I’m lucky to live only a few blocks away. I hope to become a regular!

OK. Busy place. Tiny portions. Service not on it. Food was good but luckily we'd had a late lunch so weren't super hungry. Not sure how this ranks a Michelin Star. If you need to impress your Iowa friends on Instagram, go for it. But I'd rather of saved my money.
