One of the best museums in the country! So informative and interactive. Loved the section dedicated to human evolution. You have to see the mammal and fossil exhibits. The way the displays are set up don't just give you information, they tell a story. I loved it here and I would definitely go back. Took us a couple of hours and we got through most of it. One word of caution, if you are going to be skeptical and not believe all the hard work and effort that scientists and workers have put together, don't ruin it for others. Either don't go or keep it to yourself. I had to deal with a giant family who "didn't believe that they came from monkeys" and made many other disparaging remarks about the museum. I had to go out of my way to avoid them and it definitely hampered my experience. Other than that we had a great time though, and we even loved the gift shops! A must do!!

Excellent museum with amazing exhibitions. Perfect to take children of all ages to. Especially as there are lots of interactive and colourful exhibitions. A lot of the information is also vital for a child's education and it presents it in such a way that is intuitive and exciting. My personal favourite parts were the narwhal exhibition and the exhibition on human evolution. But I can imagine that children will enjoy the countless animals dotted around the museum.

Laid out very well and the exhibits are artfully done. Definitely geared towards children, in my opinion, but still very enjoyable. I went there by myself because I had some time to spare, and it was still enjoyable for me. I got there about 9:55 on Saturday morning. There's definitely a line to get in (bag check etc), but it only took about 5-10 minutes to get in and I got into the line when it was down to the street. No food is allowed, and only water. I left around 11:15.. so allow about an hour and a half to do it, if you're just hanging at things that interest you. I'd say 2 hours if you have kids or are really meandering through.

It was rainy and cold on the day we came. No big deal, definitely was excited to see it with family out of town and we were willing to endure. Until that is, we get up to the entrance and there is literally one door open for two opposite lines. The average wait was 1 hour. Never mind the fact they had 3 other entrances closed for exit only. On top of that, there was only one security to go through hundreds of people. Horribly managed and maintained. If it wasn't for out of town family, I would have left and never come back. The one in LA was definitely managed for the sake of the visitors.
