Being from South Louisiana my wife and I are generally more disappointed than not, when eating out on our travels. But here is a hidden gem. Hands down........best fried oysters I've had. Big, clean, and fried to perfection. My first time here, I can't say I found any thing to complain about. Entree prices are very reasonable, even lean towards cheap. Cocktails are not over priced, and are a good size. Wait staff was very friendly. I'm very certain this food is cooked only as it's ordered. Everything we had.... tasted, smelled, and felt absolutely fresh.

Our first visit to Kenny D's night last Friday. It couldn't have gone better. The chill vibe is what we sought and found it. Located across the street from the Gulf, we chose outdoor dining, enjoying the sea breeze. The service was exceptional and food absolutely delicious. If you haven't tried oysters Rockefeller, try them here. Grouper entree excellent, too. Cold beer in a chilled glass, not plastic. Oh, yeah! All this and live entertainment at a reasonable price, difficult to find in the Panhandle. After dinner, we took a stroll down to the beach. Perfect date night. ;-)

We’ve been to Kenny D’s several times. Every time I am impressed by the quality of the food. Even the kid’s menu cheeseburgers are great. No frozen Mahi patty’s that most of the “Crab” joints around town serve. We eat off Historic 98 in Miramar Beach a lot since we own a condo here. Kenny D’s is the best restaurant in this area. The food is fresh, the seafood is high quality (I am super picky), and the staff is nice.

The fried pickles and mozzarella sticks were awesome. We went to this place twice and the first night I got the fish tacos. They were good but didn’t even remotely taste like fish and the name of the mystery fish is not listed in the menu so who knows. The other day we went was for lunch and the “Alfredo pasta” with chicken was very under par compared to others I’ve had. Hardly any flavor and the noodles were almost dry. Everyone else’s food seemed to be great though and the restaurant has a nice vibe to it.

The shrimp creole was absolutely amazing. Went back for a couple beers and great service. Just stay out of the bar areas. Went in because sign had previously advertised 7.99 pitchers and 15.99 buckets of beer. Bar tender was not aware of the specials. It was Thursday night and SEC football and NFL football was on. An obvious regular came in with his dog and allowed the dog to room and bother patrons. I have been there with my dog on a leash and appreciate the pet friendly atmosphere. But to leave your dog free to bother other guests is not right. I would have given 5 stars had it not been for the last incident. Again the shrimp creole was amazing.
