Enjoy the walk as you approach the lake. The trails are maintained, and they are lonely. But watch out for the owls! These fowls can be aggressive.
This place was beautiful. Nice little hike through the woods all the way to the water. In total we walked about 5 miles round trip. Way back was kind of intense because you have to go back up a relatively steep hill, but it was totally doable even for a novice like me. Beautiful moss covered all the trees. Ferry ride to Bainbridge is also a sight to behold, so the whole experience was great. The WTA website has really detailed instructions on how to get the trail head. #Trails #Easy
So the hike is great for beginners and little kids. Very level. It is a bit buggy here because of the Gazzam POND. The standing water of Gazzam "Lake" makes this place a little more mosquito-y. There is a really cool rock to climb on and the trails are wide and clear with plenty of signs posted. Not a lot of parking either. We will be going back and I would recommend it just dont be surprised! #militarywild #AutismFam #PawsForHadrian
The parking leaves a little to be desired, as does lack of restroom at the one end. But otherwise, lovely place for a nice flat walk with a steeper walk down to the beach as an option.
It is a wonderful easy trail with many other trails connected. I enjoyed it as a change of pace to Peter's Trail.
