Went at the suggestion of a friend who was in town as I rarely partake of DC entertainment any more: too many nice places in Northern Virginia, with much better parking. That being said, we had a wonderful time Chez Billy, with truly outstanding food, cheerful, responsive staff and a pleasant decor. Prices were very reasonable for this type of restaurant. Even the parking wasn't too dire! 😁

Chez Billy Sud has a super vibe! Atmosphere and Ambiance is neat, comfortable and elegant. The outside patio is cute! The whole place appears super clean. Servers are pleasant, communicative, efficient and knowledgeable. And most importantly the food is nicely presented, taste was delicious to a good price point. I can highly recommend the brunch dishes!

Nice place with romantic atmosphere. I got the duck breast entree and it was great. The duck was well flavored and cooked. From the display and the sauces and sides that came with it, everything blended well together. They also have a duck leg entree which i also tried but the duck breast was a lot better. I would definitely come back again to try the steak and fish dishes they have. Reservations are recommended as this place gets pretty crowded quickly. Highly recommended

Our meal started slow. It was my luck to request a fine bottle of champagne that was one of only two bottles on the wine menu that they did not have in stock. Our server Cameron didn’t quite know how to handle that. So our appetizers showed up quickly with no wine on the table. It wasn’t a showstopper but it was a slow start to the meal. The food is well conceived and thoughtfully prepared. I really liked my sea bass and the salmon was equally delicious We had an excellent evening overall. And Cameron rebounded to provide fine service. We’ll be back.

The food was amazing. The chicken liver mousse was definitely the best I've ever had. The decor was beautiful. The service was great. The other diners were absolutely insufferable. The place was filled with your typical arrogant, pretentious, self-entitled, wealthy Georgetownians. The older woman seated to the table to my right couldn't stop talking about how elegant she was compared to every other woman there. I watched a man at another table drop a mussel shell on the ground, look at it, and ignore it. Someone eventually stepped on it, looked at it, an also ignored it. When the waiter noticed, they cleaned it up without receiving any acknowledgment from the rude offenders. If the people that frequented this place were more down to earth and not elitist, I would give this place five stars. Unfortunately, the place is too stuffy to earn a perfect score. With that being said, I recommend visiting Chez Billy Sud for dinner because of how excellent everything else it. Just don't make it your go-to regular joint lest you become one of these D canoes.
