Do your research before leaving home to ensure that you get the most out of your visit. There's plenty to interest everyone, history, nature and colour in abundance, whatever the season. Golden yellow gorse, shades of purple heather, walls of colourful rhododendron and brilliant autumn hues. And in the bleakest white winter the forest and moors take on a beautiful if harsh appearance that reminds us that even behind the fences that protect the native ponies, the New Forest remains a wild place.

Snow adventure. Summer adventure. Autumn adventure. Always something different on the forest. Great for walking, cycling, horse riding, picnics, fishing and just about every outdoor activity you can think of. We spend slot of time here and always come across something new. Would highly recommend, if for only a day or to live!

Having lived nearby for over 60 years, I have enjoyed all aspects of the forest through all seasons of the year. Take a quiet walk in the tree plantations and maybe see deer. Stroll over open heathland and listen to the birds. Investigate the many small hamlets or browse one of the towns. Local food is offered in many out of the way pubs.

Acres and acres of beautiful forest and heathland where ponies, cattle and deer roam freely. Great for walking and picnics in natural surroundings. Ponies will come close but don't feed them!

Absolutely love going here! Beautiful, quiet and peaceful with many different areas to walk around. Many places disabled friendly. Can see ponies, different breeds of cattle, deer and donkeys. Don't friendly as well if they well behaved off lead around the grazing animals. Definitely a place to visit.
