A magnificent and beautiful historical place. Lets start with the parking. Its free for National trust members but £4 for non members for a day. You can find toilets outside and inside the property. There is nice cafe there which you can enjoy. This place has a beautiful rose garden. Also there is another garden with lots of vegetables. You can find a beautiful apple orchard as well. There are some ponds with breathtaking views around them. Its really nice place for families and you can bring your dog. There is a playground in the wood path which is nice. There is a tree house for children which they can enjoy. The house and the the gardens around it is really fascinating. Totally recommend.
Busy place with lots to see. Good cafe, tasty soup for lunch. Enjoyed visiting although better not to visit on a weekend if possible. Quieter on week day.
Very good place to know about history of Chartwell and also great for long walks. Actually we (myself and my husband) did a walk from Chartwell to Toy's Hill and back to Chartwell.. 😍 if it's a bright sunny day then it will be heavily crowded and you won't even get your lunch as there will be long queues ..
Anyone with an ounce of history interest should definitely visit. It's amazing how well kept it is. Shame it was raining when I visited or we would have spent many more hours adoring the gardens
Very lovely place. Grounds are well maintained and beautiful. The children's playground situated the other side of the house is a mission to reach especially with a 4 year old and activities were very poor. Not worth the trek over there to be honest. But grounds and house worth a visit.
