A paradise on earth. Mystery beauty history wildlife. Landscapes that are breathtaking. Each day creates a different landscape. I have spent many many hours there over the last 35 years and now I am enjoying it with my young sons who adore it. Whatever the season its magic is always there
My spiritual homeland! I have loved Dartmoor my whole life. It can be heaven one minute but hell the next. So much history to be discovered, so varied in terrain, flora and fauna. Tranquility itself to ponder alone or rugged and challenging for groups of friends. This is Devon at its very best, an absolute must for any visitor to the beautiful South West!
It's not an area of outstanding natural beauty for nothing. Absolutely beautiful place, fantastic views. Lots of footpaths and trails to follow. Highly recommended day out walking. 👍
Never ever get fed up of the Moor, great to escape and shout at the world when everything gets you down. Great to walk but beware if you don't have the right gear and don't know where you are going it can be the worst place on earth. People have been inspired to write books, poetry, paint and draw, and if you like me photograph this amazing area. If you don't like open spaces and unspoilt landscapes stay away. In fact if the locals could we would keep it for our selves
The go to national park. It was cattle, wild ponies, Can climb tors, waterfalls, fishing, heritage sites, history and so much more. Great place to go. I grew up in south Devon. And some of my favourite memories are of this place no matter what season.
