Piazza della Signoria, 50122 Firenze FI, Italy
One of the most attractive places in Florence. There is a small museum and the tower itself. You can get a really good view of the city at the top of the tower. Make sure you have a ticket for that. However, you're not allowed to climb if it's raining. In that case, you still can visit within the next three days.
Very interesting. Do the excavation tour, well worth it if you stop and listen to the 10 minute movie. If it looks like rain either don't bother with the tower or do it straight away before the rain as it is closed when wet.
I would say, when in Florence, you must have seen this spectacular building, its packed with art, beauty and history. Even if you arent really interested in any of those things, you will still be impressed by the decadency that some of the rooms are decorated with. Audio /video guides are not for me, personally i read up in an ordinary guide book, or just look at the info boards in the rooms. To learn about the Medici and Florence's history, this is a good start.
The museum and tower are great. The museum is throughout the entire building and has amazing rooms, a tiny chapel, and more. The view from the top of the tower is well worth the climb, and a great deal easier than the climb to the Duomo! Don't miss the amazing coffee in the cafe near the ticket booth. Be prepared to wait for tickets, though.
The place is spectacular, especially the painted ceilings. It’s definitely worth the money and the time you’ll spend there (about 1,5-2 hours in my case, but less if you don’t read the descriptions in every single room).
