Piazza di Madonna degli Aldobrandini, 6, 50123 Firenze FI, Italy
Doesn’t have long lines or wait times which is great. A lot of history here with very interesting relics and artwork on display at ground level. You can then head upstairs to the main chapel to see some stunning artwork and sculptures, some by Michelangelo
It was in my bucket list to stand under the famous octagonal dome of Medici chapel. If you are aware of how this dome was designed and the struggles, trials, time and the capital that was invested, you will appreciate the authentic experience. The security check and ticket purchase was quite a simple and easy process. Keep in mind that there are steps within the Chapel. Strollers and/or wheel chair would be a bit of an issue unless you are willing to carry it up the steps.
The chapel is worth visiting, even more so than the San Lorenzo church, which is located near. The sheer beauty of the interior is breath taking and the whole history of the Medici familiar converges inside this space of a few hundred square metres. It's a beautiful part of Tuscany's history that must not be missed!
The best restaurant in Florence. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is incredible. I will definitely come back again!!!
What a gem of a museum! We moreorless stumbled across it and were very glad we did! Incredible interior of the chapel and very informative crypts down below. We spent maybe 45-60 minutes inside. But you could get away with 30 minutes or relish for 90. Access included with the FirenzeCard.
