Historic place which is fun to see. Maybe it was a crowded night that made my experience not so good. It’s was so crowded that it took a while to get seated. I chose the fixed menu with historic story telling and music on the third floor. The best part was the story telling. I’m sorry to say that I regret my choice because 60 euro was too much for what I received for one person. I probably would’ve gotten a better dish if I just dined in the regular dining area. Meal was not that great and service was bad. Wrong items were served to my table. I asked for a cup of tea and it took forever for the waitress to bring it to me and when I got it it was room temperature. At that point I did not even want to ask for replacement so I just left without complaining.

We loved it!!! The best pub that I have ever seen. Open air area and several indoor places. The staff was a bit stressed , but I understand with that amount of customers . Good food and great beers. Amazing atmosphere. Must to visit in Dublin.

How can you not love the oldest pub in Dublin? Awesome pub... A must while you are in Dublin. Fiona was amazing bartender! Pumpkin soup with bacon spring onions and other goodies was awesome! I'll definitely be back... Tomorrow!

As many reviewers have noted this is the oldest pub in Ireland. However, the food is also pretty good and the place is great for big group sizes (in our case 10). We ordered chips, onion rings, and fried Brie as starters. They were all good but nothing excellent. However, the bacon and cabbage that I ordered was really quite tasty and devoured by myself and others at the table (the portions are HUGE). The burger my mom had was super juicy and also massive. The Irish stew was good, nothing super special. The chowder was very nice as well. The servers were very attentive at filling drinks, ordering, and clearing plates. Overall, I would definitely go again!

Love this place, the food could be better but the place itself is so interesting it's worth it! They do a dinner/story/sing thing every night at 6:30. We did it last time we were in Dublin, it was a lot of fun. You need reservations for it!
