The location marked on the map is wrong. Pura Lempuyang Luhur or Gate of heaven is not located here. The actual location Pura Lempuyang Luhur (Gate of heaven) is same location of Penataran Lempuyang. I reached the location as per map, but couldn't find anything. Later a local guide helped me to reach the real place with payment.

It’s on the top of the mountain so the weather is really cool. It’s so far and difficult to reach from the center of the island. There’re too many people and we have to stand in queue in more than an hour to our turn to take a picture at the “sky gate”. Finally the picture at the gate is the only achievement of the trip.

Beautiful but way too touristic. Had to wait for 200 people to take picture at the gates of heaven.

Beautiful temple set in the mountains with a view of Mt Agung. Prepare for a long wait (min. 90 min.) to get a picture at the Gates of Heaven even off-season. Come very early in the morning or late in the afternoon while afternoon shots may be a little bit more magical.
