There are better islands in and around Lombok. Gili trawangan is the most commercial and crowded island among all. However, there are certain things, like, the water swing that is unique to this place. One can easily rent a bike and go around the island. It's a happening place for couples.

Highly recommended, each island has something else to offer. Air is for diving, Travangan for partying and Meno for peace and quiet. All 3 have pristine beaches and crystal clear waters. Whatever your choice it's bound to be a better experience than Bali - take my word for it!
