Amazing black sand beach with very nice rock formations, views, plenty of puffins. One of the best Iceland attraction. Must see.

Beautiful area on the south coast. This is where the most beautiful black sand beach is located. There are caves that remind you of scenes from Game of Thrones, and beautiful basalt columns. However, you need to be aware of the deadly sneaker waves. Hey close attention when you are walking close to the shore, as the waves can be very calm one minute and strong the next. There are signs all over warning you of this. However, the beach is gorgeous and one that must not be missed if you are in the area.

This beach is beautiful and one of the many highly recommended stops in Iceland. The black rock formations that form pillars behind the beach are other worldy and amazing to climb upon. Beware though that there are "sneaker" waves on this beach that come up very quickly and pull unsuspecting tourists into the ocean, so do not let your children get too far from you. There is a restaurant there with snacks and coffee that serves as a nice place for a break.

Uniqueplace! Take care from the snake-waves! Walk on the beach, enjoy the view ..the black black sand, and make pictures. On the way here you can stop in 3-4 places for the great nature and view. Take with you water, if is necessary and something to eat; on the way and there is nothing to buy something!
