Make sure to stop here on your way to the seven sacred pools. You'll get to check out the beautiful black sand beach and some pretty cool lava tube caves. Definitely worth the stop even though you'll probably be getting pretty tired by the time you get here.
Absolutely breathtaking and unique. Only downfall was the swarm of hundreds of people... definitely a major tourist attraction and I'd recommend getting there as early as possible if you don't want to be bumping into other people.
Without any doubts it is a must see place in Maui and, probably, even the most beautiful due to its views over the lava cliffs, the waves, the shape of the shore, black sand beach and ACCESSIBLE paved paths along the shore. You cannot get to the black sand beach cause there is the path only by stairs, but you can enjoy the view from the ACCESSIBLE viewpoint. Parking is huge here, and there is place for camping, but pay attention to your wheels while driving a narrow road to the spot in order not to loose them on the way. :)
Too many people in my opinion, which takes away from the ability to enjoy the scenes. It may take a long time to get a sbort distance because lots of people are trying to see. There is a decent walkway around the rocks.
A nice black sand (pebbles) beach. Walking in the sand is relaxing. It was a bit crowded. I think it would be great to spend the night there.
