Aurora - Coastal Night Sky Snowshoe Safari

You will be welcomed by your experienced guide at Renöhamn Wharf, 7 km outside the township of Piteå. Here you dress up for the winter conditions with protective overalls, winter boots, warm hats, gloves, and put your snowshoes on. After the safety instructions, you walk in your own pace in your snowshoes out into the darkness of the winter under the sparkling northern night sky.

After a short hike on the frozen sea ice, you reach an island where you start with a night forest hike between majestic pine trees. Immerse yourself in our winter experience in the land of King Bore, the Nordic mythological king of the cold and icy north. The quietness of this snow-covered landscape is only broken by the squeezing sound of your snowshoes in the snow.

You soon reach your sky gazing spot, where if the sun is good to us, it will treat us to the great mystery of the north - the spectacular phenomenon of Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights. While waiting for this magic dance in the sky, you will be absorbed in the quietness of this northern place, feel the chill of the winter on your cheeks, and observe the stars above us, while learning about the planets, star constellations and their mythology. A camp fire will warm you up with warm drinks and snacks.
