What to expect?

Itinerary:

Day 1: FIRST DAY, ROUTE AND PARAGENS

Stop At: Baia de Camara de Lobos, Camara De Lobos, Madeira, Madeira Islands

  • The name of this parish comes from the fact that, at the time of the discovery of the island, a large number of sea lions were seen in that cove which still has the same configuration today. Câmara de Lobos was the first place where João Gonçalves Zarco, the navigator who discovered the island, lived between 1420 and 1424.

Stop At: Ribeira Brava Beach, Ribeira Brava, Madeira, Madeira Islands

  • Ribeira Brava owes its name to the river that borders it; when it rains more intensely in the mountains its waters run wild towards the sea. It is a small town on the southwest coast of the island flanked by deep valleys. It is a nice place where tourists often stop

Stop At: Levada do Paul da Serra, Madeira, Madeira Islands

  • Paul da Serra is the largest and most extensive plateau of the island of Madeira with about 24 km², with an average altitude of approximately 1500 meters.

Stop At: Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pools, Porto Moniz, Madeira, Madeira Islands

  • An attraction for thousands of domestic and foreign tourists, not only for its beauty and peculiar origin but also for the magnificent conditions. The quality of the water is excellent and the infrastructures correspond perfectly to the level of excellence of this beach complex. The landscape surrounding the pools, the panoramic view that the bather has on the coast and the cliffs are a strong attraction as well.

Stop At: Seixal Natural Pool, Seixal, Madeira, Madeira Islands

  • The Seixal, located between Porto Moniz and São Vicente, is an excellent place to make a stop. From this point you can explore the rocky coastline and stroll along the pier to contemplate the great cliffs and waterfalls that fall on both sides of this small village.

Stop At: Sao Vicente Caves, Sao Vicente, Madeira, Madeira Islands

  • São Vicente is a pleasant village in the north of the island that is in one of the most beautiful valleys of Madeira. The village of St Vincent is becoming increasingly popular among surfers because of its pebble beach with excellent conditions for the many surfers coming from all over Europe to enjoy the waves.

Stop At: Cabo Girao, Camara De Lobos, Madeira, Madeira Islands

  • It is the highest cable in Europe, 580 m high, famous for its suspended glass platform. The Cabo Girão viewpoint, situated on the highest promontory in Europe, at 580 m altitude, offers a vertiginous view of the Rancho and Cabo Girão fajãs - small cultivated land at the foot of the cliff, as well as magnificent panoramic views over the ocean and the municipalities of Câmara de Lobos and Funchal.

  • Faial is a small and picturesque village on the northeast coast of the island named after a local tree that is the beech (Myrica faya). The colonizers arrived here only in 1519 and were mostly of Moorish and Galician origin. During the first phase of colonization in which the sugar cane crop reached its peak production, water mills were built in Ribeira do Faial and Ribeira Seca to grind sugar cane. You can still see the ruins of these buildings under the bridge.
