It is my home city and it is a wonderful place. The sight is incredible and there are plenty of places to eat around which are really good. Recently they blocked vehicle access to the area around the plaza so it is very calm and it is easier to take nice pictures and walk around.

Plaza de Armas Arequipa is a beautiful place to enjoy free to for locals and tourists alike. It's safe day and night. Around it, we can find lots of tourist information , restaurants and shops, nail salon and even a casino.

Arequipa is propably the most memorable city in Peru. Far better than Lima in historic value. Traditional and modern at the same time. Don't miss the chance to visit Arequipa.

Beautiful central square in the city with musicians, families and tourists. I followed the advice to go at night and have no regrets. The whole plaza felt perfectly safe even when taking photos and acting like an obvious foreigner. This is probably due to. police visibly present
