Take the chance to explore Scandinavia's largest cave system, Svarthammarhola, found approximately 7 km from Fauske's town center, towards the town of Sulitjelma. A caver's dream, these underground tunnels will wow even the newest of enthusiasts. Prior caving experience recommended.
On your way to the cave system, you'll walk up alongside the mountain, giving you a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape. The terrain will be steep and rugged, so it is recommended that you have the proper footwear to make your way up to the cave. This takes around one hour in the summer, & a little longer in the winter.
We use well-qualified guides who have a solid knowledge of the Svarthammarhola system, and who put safety and wellbeing at the highest priority. Upon arrival at the opening of the cave, there will be a dinner break before changing clothes and heading into the cave.
Please bring good quality waterproof mountain boots or strong walking boots. We also recommend that you bring a set of towels that can be used to clean yourself when finished. It's cold inside the cave, so extra warm clothes are essential after the trip.
