Beautiful Park which has not been overrun by tourists yet. Can be reached from all sides. Lots of beautiful and long hiking trails. The glacier is breathtaking and definitely worth a visit. Make sure to have an offline trail map with you as the internet connection is very poor. Great for wild camping in the summer months. Be prepared for fast weather changes.
Beautiful leisure stroll here... always nice to be with nature. It took us an hour to get to the edge of Folgefonna National Park (Lake Bondhus) and back. While walking there you will be accompanied by the calming waterfalls. The road is known as the “ice road”. Constructed around 1860 it was originally used to transport blocks of ice from the Bondhus glacier (visible at the far end of the lake). A footpath on the right-hand side of the lake will lead you all the way to the glacier fall. Take note of the warning signs near the glacier and follow its instructions. Have fun!
Great parks for beautiful hikes in a green national park with a great view on the fjord.
Amazing hike experience with our 'blue ice hike' guide.
We loved the hike! It was a great experience. If you follow the signs for Buer going south of of Odda you will come to a parking lot. The hike starts through a farm and up into the woods. Eventually it will start to get a bit more rocky and mountainous. Follow the red Ts along the trail and you'll be fine. There are some small bridges and ropes you need to use because it gets very steep. It was snowy towards the top even in May. Once you get to the top you need a guide to hike the actual glacier.
