Amazing train ride. The train itself has large windows for viewing the very beautiful nature. You can enjoy watching the waterfalls. It's quite touristy but still worth it.

The Flam railway must not be missed. It's a small local train with a lot of culture. The cars are vintage and very unique. The train will make a few stops along the way for must see picture spots (waterfalls, scenic overlook, etc.). The train will also announce on what side to look coming up for the best pictures. The seats are not assigned, but make sure you can get up and move as you will want to take pictures from both sides of the train.

If you visit in the quiet season you won't have to deal with crowds but be prepared..this amazing train ride has people rushing from one side to the other to grab photos and videos. If you prefer to quietly look, find a seat where the window doesn't open. But it is amazing.

My heart is divided, because I see its usefulness for travelers and offers mobility possibilities, but also the train has a lot of being a tourist trap. The two way ticket is expensive, there is a (beautiful) show in a magnificent waterfall during the main stop, and the people will jump over your seat and offer their sweaty bodies to get that unforgettable picture of a passing by waterfall...

Awesome!! If you do this off a cruise, be warned,we catch the first train out and that's early, 8am departure. The trip was really lovely and you get to stop for a photo shoot at some waterfall on the way. Passing through tunnels and along sheer edges its amazing to think this was done by gangs of men with picks and shovels. Well worth it!
