Great shop with friendly staff and fantastic selection of goods. Bergen does have a lot of sweaters, but this shop seems to have the best selection. Prices seem to be similar across the board apart from sales items. Good location, and plenty of room in the shop to walk around.

BUYER BEWARE—if I could give them zero stars I would—bought two Dale of Norway sweaters there today and subsequently saw one of the same sweaters 510 NOK (about $60) less at store about a block away. As had just spent over 7000 NOK, thought Berle Bryggen would match price and give me cheaper price or refund sweater so I could buy one of the sweaters at cheaper price. No chance. In fact, manager and another employee said, “it’s your bad luck that price was cheaper elsewhere.” Lesson learned and passing that onto you—if you want to avoid “bad luck” shop elsewhere and get same product cheaper with better merchants who are more respectful to the tourists who keep these businesses open.
