Very good place for family good time. Well maintained. You can walk or use the shuttle inside the park ( which is included in the entrance fee). All animals seems to be well looked after. Chance of really good photos. The caffe is a bit over priced as you can expect, but offers large variety of quick food options and amazing views towards the rhinos. You can sit and enjoy a cuppa feeling like you are in Africa.
Fantastic little park. Nice and clean and no smell. Very good variety of animals from across the world. Animals look well looked after and happy. Some exotic animals such as rhino and tigers. Seeing the keepers feed the animals was a favourite. Lunch at the cafe was also good. Despite the rain the keepers still made an appearance and gave excellent educational talks. We would visit again. Would have stayed longer if we didn't have a flight to catch.
Much like Jurassic Park, lots of paddocks not many animals. Zebras, Lions, Giraffes and the tiger were highlights. Lots of walking. Very dated food cafe with over priced basic food. Needs a bit of an overall cash injection to make it more modern and exciting.
Locals get the benefit of an annual pass so you can go as often as you like. Great open spaces. Get a feeding timetable as you can get close up to the animals and hand feed giraffes (wonderful experience for all ages). Walk or get a tractor ride around the park. Check out the Facebook page or website before going as there are often specials, like school holidays kids go free etc.
Over priced. Run down. Needs cash injection.. BIG TIME! Very old buildings, little maintenance done on keeping the park in shape. Left feeling embarrassed that this is what Christchurch has to offer for tourists and families. However, animals looked after.. well done. Overall very very disappointing, so sad :(
