the slow walk/hike of 45 minutes of uphill trail from the gondola parking area was all worth it when you see the views of the city, mountains, and harbour. many trails up around the summit. save your 35nzd for the gondola; the hike is so much more rewarding!

The Bridle Path walk is great for a hill walk. I love thinking about the early European settlers walking over it regularly. It's just one of my go to walks on the Port Hills. The outlook is always fantastic even on a misty day.

Great exercise, great views from the top, free of charge, can be a challenge, descent can be slippy especially when its dry. What satisfaction when you finish.

Around 2.3 km to the top gondola station where you will get great views of Lyttelton. Cafe at the top serves great coffee and food.
