time-raw3.5 hours

If you’re an art or history enthusiast or you just enjoy looking at really extravagant creations, this is the tour for you! Be prepared to be filled with envy as you tour one of the most spectacular palaces in Florence, the Pitti Palace. Admire the masterpieces of several Italian and international artists in the Palatina Gallery. Continue through the Boboli Gardens...you’ll feel inspired to finally weed your garden!

What to expect?

Enjoy this full morning guided tour in English in a very small group with maximum 12 people and explore in the company of an expert local guide the beauty of the most sensational palace of Florence, started for the wealthy Pitti family but then turned into the final residence of the powerful and dominating Medici family.

After the Medici's extinction, the Hapsburg from Vienna, the Bonaparte and finally the Savoy, the Italian royal family, lived in this immense building, leaving behind traces of their presence and of their decorative taste.

First, you visit the Palatina Gallery, an overwhelming example of passion for art collecting showed by the several members of the Medici family and carried on by the Hapsburg. Your guide will show and describe you all major masterpieces by Italian and international masters, like Raffaello, Tiziano, Artemisia Gentileschi, Caravaggio, Rubens, Van Dyck and Velazquez.
Then, after a short break in the courtyard of the palace (there is café...), the tour continues into the marvellous Boboli Gardens, the most impressive example of Italian Renaissance gardens, which did become the actual prototype for later European gardens.
