Unfortunately, my experience didn’t live up to expectations from my travel guide. The restaurant has beautiful, impressive gardens. My partner and I ordered the signature crispy duck dishes. They were good but didn’t stand out compared to other warungs/restaurants we’ve been too. Since it was around sunset and the gardens have a few ponds with lotus flowers, there were so many mosquitoes. There were also so many flies once our food arrived, it was a constant distraction throughout the meal. After having two candles brought to our table, it helped reduce the amount of flies but not totally. Perhaps it’s better to visit during the day or choosing different areas to dine in at the restaurant. In terms of the duck, on one half of the duck, you could see the duck’s short hairs (fried/embedded in the skin). I think this is normal for the traditional dish but it’s not something I’m used to as a tourist.
This outdoor restaurant has both regular seating at well as the low-table, sit-on-the-floor tables for an awesome authentic experience. Not to mention you'll be sitting right along side a rice terrace in what was one of the most relaxing experiences I've had yet! The food itself was good, nothing extremely amazing or different from other places throughout Bali. I tried the crispy duck, of course, and it was quite crispy (and tough) but tasty nonetheless. I recommend checking out Bebek Bengil for the scenery, you won't regret it!
Ordered “green curry” chicken here. It was more of a soup as you can see in the picture. I don’t think there was any coconut milk in the curry and it was the least spicy green curry I’ve ever had. I tried several times to call the waitresses and when I finally got their attention they told me there was coconut milk in the curry when there clearly was not. Also they add a 10% service fee and 11% tax. I’ve not seen this added on at any other restaurant in my time here. My friend I was with had even worse luck with the food. There are many much cheaper and far superior restaurants in Ubud, do not waste your time or money here. The fact that this is my first ever review goes to show how incredibly disappointed I was with this restaurant.
Exceptional crispy duck restaurant. We ordered the whole duck and shared among 3 of us. It was more than sufficient. The outdoor setting is great. Expect to spend at least 1 hour here. Its worth the visit.
We had a lovely meal here. Of course we ordered the duck and loved it! Also tried an avocado juice (which I loved) and sat outside in the garden. Would definitely recommend as the food and atmosphere was amazing
