Hiking and bathing in the hot springs is about 4 hours.
Pick-up time: Summer time: if you did not purchase pick-up from Reykjavik then you can meet us at N1 Gas Station in Hveragerdi at 9 a.m. If you purchased the pick-up from Reykjavik then please be ready at 8:00 AM for pick up from your Reykjavík accommodation.
Winter time: pick up is at 10 a.m. from N1 Hveragerði and 9:00 AM from your Reykjavík accommodation.Please note that it can take up to 30 minutes for us to arrive.Included:
Guided hiking tour to the hot springs in Reykjadalur with a local guide and bath in the hot river. Clothing: Warm and waterproof outdoor clothing, head wear, gloves, bathing suit and a towel. Good hiking shoes are recommended and can be rented online beforehand.This classic hike starts from the outskirts of Hveragerði, the town of hot springs and flowers, into the beautiful geothermal valley of Reykjadalur. In the "Steamvalley" naturally hot water flows down of the slopes of Hellisheiði mountain range, creating the ideal place to bathe in a hot river.
The valley also has an amazing abundance of geothermal hot springs. You will witness everything from small gurgling melting pots to vibrant super heated pools of water. After exploring these wonders of nature we hike back down into the town of Hveragerði.This is a great 7 km, half-day hike that is suitable for anyone. It is a unique chance to visit the hot springs for a nice bathing session- just as the locals do.
