Watch the water fall from the heavens in this spectacular aquatic display of Iceland's most mystical natural wonders.
Goðafoss “waterfall of the gods” - Guided tour from Akureyri Goðafoss is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland. It is located in the valley Bárðardalur district of North-Central Iceland at the beginning of the Sprengisandur highland road. The water of the river Skjálfandafljót falls from a height of 12 meters over a width of 30 meters. After plenty of time to explore the waterfall we drive back to Akureyri. We stop for sightseeing in Eyjafjörður where you can see over the fjord to Akureyri and when we arriving we drive through the beautiful old town of Akureyri. “MS Goðafoss, an Icelandic ship named after the waterfall, was carrying both freight and passengers. It was sunk by a U-Boat in World War II, resulting in great loss of lives”
