What To Do in Iceland in September

September marks the end of the summer tourist season in Iceland. Regardless it is a good time to visit. You will enjoy some spectacular fall colors and the lighting is marvelous for photography this time of year.

Recommendations

Most of Icelands tours and activites are still in full swing in September and it’s a particularly good time to explore ice-caves in one of Iceland’s glaciers with a guide. It’s also a great time to visit the southern coast, Snæfellsnes Peninsula, the Golden Circle and drive the ring-road (highway number one) around the country.
