37 Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie, 75004 Paris, France
This was a new restaurant for us to visit since our time in Paris last year.. the building is bright and inviting, but as you enter there is an electronic system with an employee standing guard, no welcome..so we walked around the restaurant and merchandise areas and purchased a bottle of wine and some crackers... the food looked quite interesting and we are considering coming back for a meal
The service was very unattentive and forgetful. The food was served hot. The presentation was average. However, the quality and taste was very disappointing. The manager wipes the crumbs off the table with his bare hands and then turns around to arrange the silverware and napkins on the clean tables. Neither the manager or waiters seem to be paying attention to the customers. The price here is on the high end. Unfortunately, when you eat here, you are pretty much paying for the courtyard setting and the pretty host who seats you ... but not for the food or service. Tourist from USA.
Heard about Eataly for the first time via an Italian friend, didn’t know they offered such a wide variety of food related services including a market, restaurant, takeaway etc. I attended a couple cooking classes they hosted, they were great and gave me a glimpse into the Italian culture and passion for food. The Italian chef taught us how to make pizza dough from scratch to baking a freshly made pizza with different ingredients, very unique hands on experience. A place to be not only for people who love Italian food but also wish to immerse themselves in the authentic Italian atmosphere.
Such a nice place but with a poor service - our neighbours were foreigners and 3 of them eating and drinking on a table of 2... The waiter came twice to bring plates that were not ours... The pastas were cold and according to them it is 'normal'. Don't be fooled by the look of the restaurant and pick up a real nice italian restaurant in the area!
This place seems nice. I only have coffee and pastries here and occasionally buy takeaways (arancini for example). The staff is always friendly and the service relaxed but efficient at the same time. Their pizzas won't compare to those in Italy, but all in all this place is very enjoyable. I'm a regular.
