Great Museum! I guess that it is not so popular because it's somewhat further away from the more touristic area, but it is as good as all the more popular ones. I find it more compact than the other and more "linear" to transverse all its pieces. The collection of Turner painting is really good and the description gives a clear background of the artist moment. The Museum has plenty facilities to support all its visitors. I recommend it to anyone looking to satiate your hunger for British classical art pieces.
My visit to Tate Britain was Brilliant! Not only was entrance for free, however, it was nice to see the younger generation taking part in activities within the museum. More importantly, it was also nice to see the Museum being sponsored by a lot of corporates. Keep up the good work and continue to inspire more young individuals to showcase their talent within the wonderful world of art. You lead by example. Well done!
...is a lovely exhibition of British art. The free entry exhibitions are great. There are stands which encourage entrants to donate £5. One is also encouraged to donate £1 if they need a map of the building and a small fee (I don’t remember how much) if they need to use the cloak room for daytime storage as they look around. Their shop also sells prints t-shirts, mugs, postcards etc. many of which, I assume, are exclusive to this Tate shop. A reasonably-priced, annual membership fee guarantees free entry to all exhibitions, and may be worth it—I haven’t tried it yet.
Great and free permanent collection plus some wonderful exhibitions that you need to pay for. If you become a member the exhibitions are free and there is also a lovely, if expensive, Members cafe. Book shop is good as well. The Turner collection is very large if you like his work.
This is one of the most classical picture gallery in London. The main place to see Turner, Gainsborough and other British classicists. Also has some part of modern pieces. Often there is a special events happening. Plus there is nice neighborhood and Chelsea college of arts close by. To summarise Tate Britain is one of the London's must see.
