Visit Istria on a private day tour from Zagreb. The tour includes a visit to these three towns - Pula, Motovun and Hum. Each and every one offering it's own charm and interesting history. This tour makes a lovely day.

What to expect?

Istria is one of the most popular destinations in Croatia. With a strong Italian influence (the region in fact used to be part of Italy during the early part of the 20th century), this certainly is a beautiful region of Croatia both along the coast and inland, with its pretty hilltop towns.

Istria has become known for the highest quality truffles - especially the white truffle that can rival those of Italian regions of Alba and Piedmont. Truffles were appreciated by the Romans - they were believed to have grown as the result of God Jupiter throwing a lightning to an oak tree.

On this trip you will visit three cities:

Pula - the largest city in Istria. The most famous sight in Pula – of course – is the Roman amphitheatre, which is called The Arena. Built during the 1st century AD and completed under the reign of Emperor Flavius, the amphitheatre is the sixth largest in the world (of those that still exist).

Motovun - a city-monument. An ancient Istrian acropolis city situated on the top of a 277 meter-high hill whose current appearance originates from the Middle Ages, the 12th and 13th century. The longest Istrian stairway with 1052 stairs leads to the top of the Motovun hill and its Venetian city square.

Hum - the smallest city on Earth! According to the legend, Hum was built with the stones left over when giants were building towns in the river Mirna valley. Apart from being famous for being the smallest city in the world, recently Hum became popular for biska, a brandy spiced with mistletoe and made according to an old recipe originating from Hum.
