Vĩnh Thạch, Vĩnh Linh District, Quảng Trị Province, Vietnam
amazing feat of engineering. Don't expect this place to look the way they initially dug these tunnels. Things have been reinforced with concrete in some places. If you know what happened there or if you're interested in knowing find go there and make sure to find a good guide.
The flashbacks of Vietnam return when I come to this place. Glen was one of the best war veterans and a great tour guide. He did seem a bit on edge around little kids. Not sure what happened there. But great tour and great tunnels.
Incredible place, amazing what they had to accomplish. Definitely use a guide for this place.
This is a must, go to the tunnels and understand what people around the DMZ suffered in the war and how they managed to survive. Really curious!! There is a man who doesn’t speak but show the tunnels inside and after 40’ walking and showing everything just asks for a small tip. Really worth it!
It’s a very interesting historical monument of war. We have visited a complex tunnel system from 10 to 23 meters depth where people had hidden from American bombers. There were 17 babies had been born in theses tunnels, 16 of them are still alive, There delivery room is a much see.
