We did the Tu Lan encounter tour, 2D3N. It was absolutely amazing and we loved it. Totally worth the money. Extremely well organized! The food was very tasty, I didn't know how you can cook that good in the jungle. It was very safe and adventurous. We enjoyed the swimming in the caves and the climbing. But if you can bring your own shoes, like they say the provided boots are not comfy and might give you blisters. I can totally see myself coming back to do one of the other tours.

My friend group of 7 went on the 2-day/1-night Hang En Cave Adventure. There were a total of 14 tourists on our trip, and there were many Oxalis members who came along with us -- guides, safety assistants to help on the trail, porters to carry our extra clothes, and chefs to make our meals. I've never felt so safe and supported on a hike before. Oxalis made sure we had the gear that we needed -- they have long-sleeved shirts, pants, and long socks available for purchase if you need it as well as shoes available to borrow. We went at the end of April so it was a bit hot and humid, but the guides took plenty of water breaks and made sure that everyone was comfortable. The first day was a hike to lunch in the village and then to the cave. The next morning, we did a tour of the cave (helmets, gloves, and headlamps were provided), and we hiked back to the pickup point. The last part was steep, but they had warned us of this before and had even given the group the choice of taking the "easier" route back. Everyone from the office to the guides and staff were very organized and friendly. The cave was beautiful. It's a unique experience since Oxalis is the only provider, and I would definitely recommend for an "off the beaten track" experience in Vietnam.

Here is an actual itinerary for people debating spending such a large portion of money. I went with my girlfriend on the 3day 2night hang Tien tour. Day 1 - hike to amazing cave that you swim through ( 40 minute experience ) still amazing. Have lunch by lagoon and trek to first campsite. Trekking included walking through rivers and walking up and down mountains in wet boots. (Should be common practice not to hike in wet boots) Day 2 - they said we would be trekking and that is literally all we did this day. This entire day was a waste of time in my opinion. Most people trek with intentions of "getting somewhere". Sadly, there was maybe one scenic spot the entire second day. We ran out of water and lunch was instant noodles cups. Finished the day with more pointless trekking up and down mountains. One person in our group could not handle the difficulty level so he was taken on a different path. I found out later he arrived at camp three hours prior to the rest of the group. Meaning that we trekked up mountains in wet boots with no water for NO reason. By the time we got to camp it was getting cold and the cool swimming spot lost its appeal. Day three - incredible caves. So massive it's hard to even believe. Staff helps with pictures and has great information on each cave. Total caving was 4.5 hours...that included plenty of wait time for pictures. After, we had lunch and trekked back to be picked up. In my opinion, staying that second day was a total waste of time and money. This company has been operating for many years now and needs to be held at a higher standard. All the staff we encountered were above and beyond. Good food overall, and staff had great English as well. If any of their tours mention 'long treks' opt for another option.

Best tour. So worth it and well planned in terms of day to day activity and safety.

A huge shout out to the team from Oxalis, whom we were with for Hang En 2 days 1 night tour. Everything from this tour was better than what we expected. Our guide Dong and Kat could speak fluent English and were always making sure that we were all accounted for, looking after our every needs. A huge thank you to the porter Cuong who was safely guiding us thru every step of the way making sure that we crossed the river/climbed the rocks safety, always ready to give us a helping hand whenever we needed it and patiently waiting for us when we had a tough time climbing. Not forgetting the rest of the porters and staffs from the Oxalis team who were equally amazing, they made this trip a fun filled exhilarating experience! Surprisingly the food that they served us in the cave were really delicious!! We were always looking forward to our meals in the cave! Lastly i would advised against going during summer period as the heat in the cave is really unbearable unless you are bringing a portable fan. Thank you Oxalis!😊
