I saw a similar concern posted about the wait with no intention of actually seating you. Highly recommended by friends, we anticipated a wait even on a recent THU night in OCT when we arrived before 9. My name "-2" was scribbled in chalk on an exposed black pipe and advised to come back in an hour. We returned in 30 as we decided to sit at one of the tables outside for drinks. The same guy checked his tablet for my name mentioning I'd get a call once our table was ready. Confused, I pointed to the aforementioned pipe and was then told 20 more minutes. Outside, our server provided good service and wine (hence the 2 stars) and we agreed we'd dine at the bar if that became available first as our server suggested. It was 54 deg outside and a table of 3 guys dined near us (the food smelled and looked terrific for the record). Wine finished we went back inside where we were completely ignored and in fact had to track down our server to pay for the wine when at 1045pm we watched random people being seated we hadn't seen in our 2 hours waiting. I completely understand being attentive to regular/ loyal customers before first timers visiting via word of mouth. I'd rather have been told that the restaurant is at capacity for the remainder of the evening so that I would have had the option of dining elsewhere, as opposed to the humiliation of having my name insincerely chalked upon an exposed pipe later to be erased. Word to the wise: make sure your name is put into the tablet along with your contact number. The chalked up pipe is less promising than naively standing-by on an overbooked flight to PVR in January.

The restaurant itself is beautiful with high ceilings and vibrant decorations throughout. Makes the place feel very high end. On the flip side every server I had the pleasure of talking with had great people skills and made me feel very welcomed and at ease. I also loved the fries at this place!

WAITING TIME FOR A TABLE, that’s your complaint? They wouldn’t do it here on purpose or at any restaurant that operates properly if not for the customers (YOU) who hog the table and have no regard for the next reservation. Everyone wants to dine but respect that it’s a business, sorry you’re not the only customer expecting VIP treatment. Get in and get out. Great food, great service, highly recommend

Awesome lunch! Great meals! Will return! And tremendous service too! Our server turned into high-quality attentive and came to us with numerous reccomendations and tastes of the dessert wines.

NYC has so many amazing restaurant options it's hard to choose. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this wonderful place. Very authentic Italian with interesting dishes. I highly recommend getting one of their specials. Thank you for the hospitality! (Pictured: almond tart with rhubarb, macchiato)
