This is starting Station for trams. The way they turn the trans is a treat to watch. Their is a ticket counter nearby and it costs 7$ one way. During rush hours and especially weekends there is a long wait time to catch trams. One thing I wish to see is the announcement of where the tram is going to. A must place to visit and travel by tram was a great and memorable experience.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! I haven't giggled like this in a long time. Riding on the front side is the best seat... and lots of fun. But hold on!!! Recommend a jacket and a good pair of "sticky" shoes. The car takes a scenic route, up and down hills, stopping at the end of Hyde Street near the water. You can get a beautiful picture while riding downhill of the Golden Gate Bridge, water, and scenery. Also passes by the twisting Lombard Street.

Advice, buy the one day pass for $12 available online, its much cheaper than the $7 one way ticket- you don't need data on your mobile to access the ticket. Unless you want to get off at Lombard Street, avoid the Powell - Hyde run as it is packed, take the Powell - Mason line instead. Personally, I would strong encourage the California St. line up Nob Hill where there are numerous luxury hotels and historic mansions, just a beautiful area.

The rolling hills of San Francisco are so more navigable for a tourist especially with these cable cars. Took it from near the cable car museum till about the last stop. The last stops are crowded with huge queues. So try and get in from an in-between stop like cable car museum. You can probably club a visit to cable car museum followed by a ride in the cable car.

Loved the cable car! I used this thing many times while in San Francisco. It's easy to buy a pass and jump on/jump off when you need to. And it's historic. Anyone visiting this city needs to experience this =)
