Lighthouse Visitor Center, 27000 Sir Francis Drake Blvd, Inverness, CA 94937, USA
Lighthouse is still closed as of 04OCT19. Good drive up to the parking lot albeit a rough road. Some deer and elk can be seen throughout the drive. Quaint dairy farms along the way. Even saw a newborn calf while heading back down. The shoreline and the wide Pacific vistas make you forget about the trials and tribulations of daily life.
Amazing place for a gorgeous sunset and sunrise view. Can see the sun over an ongoing ocean horizon, and the cliffs lining the seashore. Secluded area that not many people make it out to. Bring a jacket because it gets very cold here. Lots of cows, wild deer and farmland on the drive up!
This is just one of many attractions to visit in the Point Reyes park. Even though, the lighthouse was closed for repairs, the hike to the area was beautiful. The walk is all up hill to the lighthouse. Bring water and be prepared for high winds.
The lighthouse was closed for repairs but the landscape, the diverse plant life, the wildlife and the beach access was incredible! Best part...only a handful of people were there.
So scenic. Do note the lighthouse is only open on select days of the week.
