The product is good but this "business" is not a true business. Ms. Carline Phanor is managing an elaborate hobby that is sustained by the tastiness of her product. Certainly not by her business acumen. In April I purchased 8 bottles of the umami sauce online. I received a receipt via email confirming my order. That was the extent of the professional communication I had with this "business." After waiting two weeks and never receiving any follow-up correspondence (including shipping confirmation or tracking information) I called the number listed on the website and Carline herself answered (though she claims this is not her personal line but a "business" cell phone). I explained that I had not received any update for two weeks and inquired about my order. She then texted me a photo of my package which she said was set to be shipped. Apparently, she also considered that photo as properly providing me with tracking information (I later learned I was expected to zoom in on the photo - who sends a customer tracking information in this fashion?). Given that I am accustomed to receiving tracking information in a professional manner I never would have thought to zoom in on the photo. After another four weeks I reached out again (via text) inquiring about the whereabouts of my package. Carline texted me back with the tracking number which showed the package had been delivered a month prior. After several phone calls to my local post office it seems their records stated the item had been delivered to my block though I never received it. I contacted Carline who advised me to file a claim against the post office. Instead of taking responsibility for the merchandise I did not receive she shifted blame to the mail carrier. She then offered me a discount on a replacement order. The fact that Carline was willing to spend 20 minutes arguing on the phone with me, only to offer a discount on an additional order suggests two things. One, she does not have the proper insurance to cover lost merchandise (any proper business would offer a refund or replacement for unreceived goods regardless of the delivery status). Two, Carline's "business" is in fact a hobby that cannot sustain an $80 loss. I consider myself having unwittingly made a donation to Men Pa'w and to Carline as I declined the discount. Why should I give you more money when you've proven yourself unwilling to take responsibility for the merchandise I already ordered? Loss is a part of any business, why are you unprepared/unable to properly manage such a situation? Why should I give more money to a poorly run business? You owe me a debt, how can you ask for more money with a straight face? The product is good, the business is a sham. If you can avoid ordering from Men Pa'w directly I would advise it. Perhaps my donation will help ease Carline's financial constraints so that she can afford to treat future customers with proper consideration? All jokes aside, I doubt it. Order at your own risk!
