6109 N Apache Trail, Apache Junction, AZ 85119, USA
Camped here for two nights. The park rangers are extremely helpful and friendly. There are bathrooms and showers which are kept clean. The camp/RV spots are well maintained. Looks like new charcoal BBQ stations have been installed for every spot. We saw heaps of wildlife during our stay. The mountains view is amazing. It was so nice to wake up to that view every morning. Lots of hiking trails. There's also a mountain bike trail. This place is pet friendly as long as your pet is on a leash. There's no shade around the sites. So it would be best to bring your own gazebo or something that will provide shade. The AZ sun is super hot. Not sure about other sites but my site had so many gnats. Swarms and swarms of them. Nothing we could do would keep them away. So remember to take bug repellents. It helped a little. There are residential houses built so close to the camp sites that I could hear people in their backyards at night. On the first night I guess someone was having a party and I could hear the whole thing. That's my bad for not doing enough research on the location of the park but just so people know that this spot is close to town. Overall I had a good time. I personally wouldn't camp here again but I would recommend it to young families or people with RVs who want to close to town.
We love this place!! We’ve been to 30 states and 6 provinces - almost 100 campgrounds. This place is in our top 5. The views and campsite sizes are fantastic. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They keep everything so clean and peaceful. A+
My Lost Dutchman Park Hero!!! A Western Diamondback was at my rear tire in the dark! I was packing to leave in the morni g... He drove by checking on everyone and I flagged him down freaking out! He was so calm n cool and captured the snake to release elsewhere. Man! Gotta appreciate the Rangers!!
The park rangers are awesome (friendly and knowledgeable). The scenery is amazing at dawn and dusk (couldn't go on any trails due to wild fires). The bathrooms are clean, and the sites are spacious.
Saw rabbits, bunny's, and lizards. The rooms were beautiful and great quality. Rooms are a a short walk away and you get to see cute lil animals on your walks. The state ranger was extremely nice and answered all of our questions. Great for family.
