7201 East Green Lake Dr N, Seattle, WA 98115, USA
Very accessible by public transportation. The trail goes all the way around the lake and there are affordable boat rentals if you want to go out on the water. Within walking distance of coffee shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. Great place to bike, run, jog, or just have a nice slow walk. BEST place for people watching and summer picnics.
Love it!! Perfect place to walk, if you want exercise... take a book, if you want to read in peace and quiet... take photos, if you like the flowers, birds and many different scenic locations within the park. Afterward, there are some decent restaurants and ice cream shops with very easy walking distance. The only "downside" to everything else is parking. If you don't have somewhere else to go immediately after a visit here... take the bus to and from the lake. I would have added photos but this program won't allow me to go back to my last visit.
This place is huge!!! Met a friend here, met sure to be exact when meeting here. Nice clean trails. Plenty of places to sit and have a picnic. Play ground for the children. Gets windy bring a jacket. Also can rent a kayak.
I would rate green lake park 5 stars. I like to walk along the lake either by myself or with family or friends. It takes 40 minutes to walk around the lake, little short of 3 miles. No matter when you come to green lake park, you can always see many people walking, running, bicycling, or roller skating. Lots of parking on the west side of the lake, there is a nice playground on the east side of the lake, but parking is a challenge.
We went to the swimming area by Seattle Public Theatre. It's free! And it's safe! There is a very shallow place inside a rope. To go outside the rope, guards ask that you pass a quick swimming test. Then you can use the driving deck.
