100 Washington Park, Brooklyn, NY 11205, USA
Top of the hill in the park has the Prison Martyrs Monument and a small view over the surrounding area in Fort Greene. There are two playgrounds and 5 tennis courts (must be booked). Paths and benches are decently maintained. Lots of beautiful trees and some spots with nice landscaping. The staff work hard to keep everything nice and still make improvements.
9.17.19 - good trails for running. One loop is almost 3/4 of a mile. The kids park is great, but there's a lot of smokers of cigarettes and weed (comes with the territory). The grassy areas are great for early morning relaxation and the park in general is wonderful to walk around. Lastly, there are tennis courts there, but I'm not sure how to reserve a slot.
For a national park it's pretty torn up. The grass is in serious need of proper management and cleanliness is very lacking. Great layout and space help make up for it. Design of the monument is pretty cool. Design of the park is also cool. Decent playgrounds for kids.
This park is pet friendly. It has a beautiful Mosaic, and pillars with egals. It has a exercise area and kid park that the family will enjoy. A clean bath room and sitting area with a pit grill. Very nice.
One of my favorite parks in the city. Super well kept, they are constantly fixing/improving landscape and terrain, it's usually very clean, playgrounds if you have kids at two corners. Most valuable for me and anyone with a dog - the entire park is off-leash from 9pm-9am. My puppers loves it and the dog community is super friendly. 10/5 stars if I could.
