I enjoy the old fashioned dated ambiance. It is a big part of the charm of this place. I decided to stop in by myself and eat at the bar. I had 3 things. Coffee, Chili Cheeseburger with onions and mustard, and an apple pie. The coffee was terrible and weak, you could see right through it before adding cream. The apple pie was dreadful as well. But that burger was darn good and full of flavor!!! I would return based on the burger. Next time I'll get fries as well and maybe give an update. I enjoyed the friendly service I received too.
BEFORE EATING HERE PLEASE READ THIS ASAP!!! So on the surface this place seems like your run of the mill hip diner. it's not. It is a cover up for a new product in the food industry that may take the nation by storm. Dinosaur meat. You heard that right. See cows are not that efficient. Brontosaurus's are several hundred times larger then cows and live on a lot less food when you do the proportions. You will find out in the near future that this place MAY BE ONE OF THE FIRST IN THE COUNTRY to serve Bronto-Paddy burgers. You know those cool plastic dinosaur toys you played with as a kid. It could be in your burger soon.
Before I order anywhere I like to know the sanitation grade is of course. The customer service was great, but the 1 star is for the 90 sanitation grade that's hidden! I asked the lady upfront where is their sanitation grade and she points towards the bathroom and says "it's on side of the wall going towards the restroom" Ehh!! I left immediately after seeing such a low score with many good reviews.
My 1st time there years ago was great, but yesterday my food wasn't good. I ordered fried oysters and shrimp, and neither of the 2 had flavor, the batter was too thick on both and my hush puppies were over cooked. The customer service from the bartender was great though. She was very friendly.
When I want some late night food in a great spot, I think of this place in Plaza Midwood. Retro atmosphere and menu. Get the pig wings for your appetizer and some Block burgers with pimento cheese. Outdoor seating available. Parking: Small parking lot surrounds the restaurant.
