We will provide this through a guided walk of Newcastle showing you the key sites of the city over three hours. We will take you to the Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas and then Newcastle’s Castle; both part of the historic core of the city.
Newcastle’s Castle dates from 1080, built by one of the sons of William the Conqueror, the castle has defended against Scottish attacks including a failed assault by William Wallace! St. Nicholas Cathedral church is first mentioned in 1092 and developed as the primary parish in Newcastle. This tour will take you around the core of Newcastle and includes entrances to the castle and Cathedral and areas where the industrial revolution occurred which have shaped much of Newcastle.
