A nice trip to Doi Inthanon,the highest mountain in Northern Thailand. There is a very nice botanic garden,it offers a wide variety of flowers,very colorful.Not common to see around Thailand. There is a temple and a little cafe up there. And you could go even upper,there is a nice walking trail with very tall trees.

This was a good place to go as it is the highest point in Thailand. Other than that it is a bit dull. It was chilly up there, July 13C, and the last stretch on the bike was cold and wet. Not much at the top and we quickly came down. Perhaps, we were just unprepared for the cold. about halfway down there is a nice place to stop, food court, and well priced tasty food.

I can only give this four stars as I did not experience the full trail. I came here on my last day in Thailand and was swept away by how beautiful it was. The whole trail is looked after wonderfully and offers great information regarding the plants and nature available. It’s also very handy that at the Pagodas there are escalators up the steps as the heat tires you out very fast. All in all a very lovely place I would recommend to anyone visiting.

Doi inthanon is Thailand’s highest peak, at 2565 meters tall. It’s easily reached from Chiang Mai, if you have transport, go yourself, or go by tour. I’ve been at the peak twice, after traveling by taxi, and by motorcycle. When you reach the top, it is a surreal feeling, there are a few pagoda’s and pretty gardens. On a clear day, your rewarded with views of the stunning rainforests below. Along the way, there are a couple of waterfalls you can stop at, the best one being wachiratan waterfall.
