La Sagrada Familia is absolutely stunning. The moment you first step out of the metro and turn to look at it, it definitely took my breathe away. The details and the sheer size of it is incredible. I bought my tickets in advance and was able to walk around before my tour. I highly recommend doing the tour as there is so much information and history about this church. People said that the best time to visit the Sagrada Familia was during sunset...they were right.

Amazing temple. There is no such temple in the whole world. The author loves the forest and trees. He was inspired by the ideas of ancient galas and druids and decided to build this church inside in the style of a forest, with the idea to “unite all the Christian confessions together!” All the icons are located from the outside of this building. This place will really surprise you. There is always a crowd and queues of tourists, which does not give a full feel to the atmosphere that comes from this design. I recommend this place for bright photos!

La Sagrada Familia is truly an evolving wonder! The engineering, the craftsmanship, the history - a multi-faceted design marvel. One really needs to spend good time to take it all in and see all the finer detail all around. There is a story that's told with all the pillars, carvings and structure. You have to spend time to see how the sunlight shines through all the beautiful multicolored stain glass - truly beautiful. If you get a chance go up one of the towers to take in the views of the city as well as see some of the colorful tops of some of the pillars.

This is one of the few attractions that I have found it quite beneficial to pay for the guided tours and/or audio tour. There is a wealth of information and details about the construction and design over the many decades. To start, you should spend time admiring the exterior prior to going in. The grounds are quite vibrant and energetic with all the tourist walking about snapping photos. Once you begin the audio or guided tour, you will have some context for understanding the design approach and aesthetic to the exterior. Once inside, you will be able to marvel at all the intricate details and thought put into the most minor of details. Additionally, the extra cost to visit the towers is well worth it.

The large unfinished Catholic cathedral is very traditional on the inside. The most interesting and beautiful parts are on the outside. I strongly recommend to get a guide (person or book) that can help you see and understand the building and it numerous sculpture, gargoyles, niches, etc. Each has a meaning and it's beauty. If you don't want to pay for the visit, get early on Sundays and pretend you are there for Mass.
