Lots of space and plenty of grass to sit back and relax. Plenty of trails to wonder around on and lots of shade and activities to do. Always busy - especially on weekends and is well maintained. They are actively renovating it to make it even better. Very pleased with this park and great to see such a large area in the middle of a city dedicated to citizens and tourists alike. Absolutely worth a stroll through the park while you're here.

Good chill out experience wandering around the park, with boating lake and cafes. Spent several hours just relaxing on a lovely sunny day. There's a lot to see and do here, but for us it was a place to be a way from the hustle and bustle of the city and to wake up after our overseas flight. The Crystal Palace, the pond and boating opportunities make this a great park!

Favourite place in Madrid. Great spot to hang out and enjoy the sun and have a picnic. If you find the right bench for people watching you cant go wrong. Plenty of activity from sun bathers, salsa dancing, football. Worth a visit. The fountain and monuments are fantastic.

The park is enormous and would take forever to walk through the whole thing. The pond in the middle was quite the sight. I stayed another hour and explored other parts of it. It was great, but probably not worth spending more than 3 hours at as a tourist. If I were a local, this would definitely be a fun place to visit. A good place for running, picnicking, and other fun activities.

El Retiro is a large park with a lake and a glass house inside. Reach there late afternoon and take a long walk inside and just enjoy the breeze through your hair. It’s relaxing and enjoyable. You will see many jogging, skating, cycling etc... As you reach the lake you would see people boating and also enjoying the views of the lake which is picturesque with ducks and a large building at the background which gives it the elegance. A road from this lake leads you on to the glass house in the center which is beautiful with a fountain in front and if you are lucky you may have a musicians play violin alongside making it a little romantic as the evening draws to a close.
