Muzejska ulica 1, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia
The national museum was undergoing renovations when I visited but I found my visit most interesting. I learned a lot on the region's history from Paleolithic times until the end of the middle ages. The museum contains a nice collection of artifacts, with a very informative commentary. I was most impressed by the collection of Roman artifacts that emphasize the importance of the region in the history of the Roman empire, but the whole exhibit is interesting. Fascinating! At the time of my visit, the very pleasant and well lit space of the courtyard was used for a sculpture exhibition. Enjoyed it very much.
Excellent monument where you are going to find splendid artifacts. Collection of ancient arms and armor is great. So, here you you will see the archeological story and culture that existed at the territory of Slovenia for past couple thousand years. Highly recommended for the visit. Visitors are allowed to take non commercial photo without flash light and tripod..
Well worth visiting even in sunny weather. Lots to see, with interesting chosen exhibits, and perfect for children (5yrs and older). We used to celebrate children birthdays there-oh what an adventure it was.
Compared to the other big countries museum this one will be a little small!
Interesting things important for menkind, not only Slovenian history.
