Combine some of Portugal's best—the wine caves of Sao Domingos, the UNESCO World Heritage site of Coimbra, and fado music—on a single tour from Aveiro. All transportation is provided in a luxury minivan, so you'll travel in style between the multiple sites. Tastings are included at the wine caves, as is a fado show in Coimbra.
Your tour will start with a visit to Caves de São Domingos, found in the heart of Anadia. It's taken over 80 years of study, investigation, and experimentation to produce such incredible sparkling wines, capturing all its freshness and minerality of this unique region of Bairrada with its diverse terroir. The Caves de São Domingos recently won the Great Gold Medal Award for their sparkling wine, and you'll be sampling some of the very same.
From Anadia, we'll head to Coimbra to visit the University of Coimbra. Here, you'll spend some time taking in the sprawling, beautiful architecture while learning all about the university's role in shaping mind not just locally, but globally as well.
Finally, it's time to settle in and watch a performance of some traditional Portuguese Fido music. The concert hall is a unique, magical space with an almost magical atmosphere that you'll likely be entranced by. Only the best musicians in the city play here, and they are selected according to the highest standards of this 160-year-old tradition.
After the show, we will return to Aveiro.
