A must see. It is so amazing that a place like this exists in Lisbon. Not only the Palace but all the surrounding it is just amazing. I almost could feel the people who lived there enjoying that place. Highly recommend.
Beautiful grounds. Inexpensive entrance price. The house was beautiful - quite empty of furniture when we attended, but this allowed us to see the decor more easily. On the day we went, a lot of the gardens were closed due to fire safety. This is an important and necessary precaution, but it might be worth checking if this will happen during your visit.
Wow. Absolutely stunning building, and almost no one there! The gardens are amazing, and it wld have been easy to wander for hours. They have specific paths recommended for those w limited mobility, and a free little shuttle that can drive you to the main spots, but if you are willing/able to walk on rougher terrain, it's worth it. We really enjoyed it. The cafe was cute. Signs throughout so you don't get lost.
Very nice park, shady paths, flowers, strawberry trees. The palace is bare bones, not a whole lot to see. We also enjoyed the walk from Sintra to the palace and back, quite a bit up and downhill, but lots of shade and very nice views.
The palace is absolutely beautiful post the extensive restoration. The colours, wood work and stone work are captivating. The gardens are nice, however the roses were out of season. The waterfall and old horse handler house were definitely worth the effort of finding.
