A lot better than expected. So glad we visited. We paid extra for the temporary exhibitions. Staff was friendly and helpful. Had a delicious Portuguese lunch in the restaurant.

Great museum with a lot of cool paintings (most are of 'unknown masters') in 16th-18th century. I didn't expect to see the work of Pieter Bruegel here so that's a big surprise. The temporary exhibition is very interesting. Nice garden too!

It's a very nice museum with a few masterpieces and many different types of art. It portraits a great deal of the Portuguese history as well. Definitely a must go for old art and history lovers but beware it can get a bit mazy.

A must see. I was pleased but then surprised when I saw no queue at the ticket office on a Sunday afternoon. The museum will bring you in the atmosphere of old Lisbon, a fascinating trip into old times while walking among furniture, ceramics, silver and other gems. The written explanations are informative and in some cases implemented by extra materials, such as videos, boards etc. In average I'd plan 2h for the visit (or more if you're a museum geek like me). The gardens outside are very nice and there's also a café.
